“WOW” simply isn’t enough. Queenstown has me spellbound.
This small and always popular town packs a punch in terms of activities, cuisines, cocktails, and breathtaking views.
Maybe it is extra special and magical to me because my first encounter with snow was at Coronet Peak after my first ski lesson.
Perhaps the township makes me nostalgic because since 2005, it’s been difficult to find a darn good martini that tops my first drink at The Bunker: Toffee Apple Martini, garnished with a baby apple!
Rounding off the top five for Queenstown is no easy task. So here goes, in no particular order:
Top Five: Queenstown, New Zealand
- The smell of firewood in the crisp winter air.
- The Bunker. Always book your table way in advance.
- Winnie’s Sunday Roast Pizza, with any one of Monteiths seasonal or traditional brew.
- Ben Lomond. Worth the hike. Rewarding gobsmack view from the top.
- All the sports you can pack in: Skiing, Jetboating, Fishing at Lake Wakatipu, Luge, Mini-Golf!
